Johann Gerhard, Sebastian Schmidt, and the era of Lutheran Orthodoxy • Latin and Greek pedagogy • Medieval Canon Law, its reception and later use in the Reformation • Greco-Roman Classics (especially Cicero and Horace)
Joshua Hayes has over 15 years of pastoral experience and has served congregations and campus ministries in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and now Wyoming. He served as editor for Johann Gerhard’s Theological Commonplaces (CPH) and is a contributing translator to the American Edition of Luther’s Works. His love of the Latin and Greek languages animates his classroom and informs his teaching of the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. He and his wife, Diane, have six children. Together they enjoy playing music, fishing, gardening, and exploring Wyoming.
